Mumbai Police have arrested a 12th accused in the firing incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car, taking the total number of arrests in the case to 12, including nine people from Haryana’s Sonipat district.
The latest accused, identified as Amar, was arrested from Rohna village in Sonipat. Investigators are examining his financial transactions and alleged links with other suspects to establish the roles played by those involved.
According to the investigation, Amar is a friend and neighbour of Kunal, who was arrested earlier. Police have found that Kunal allegedly transferred ₹40,000 to Amar’s bank account. Amar subsequently transferred ₹12,000 to the account of another accused, Radha, reportedly on Kunal’s instructions.
The police are investigating the purpose of these transactions and whether the transfers were connected to the firing incident.
Amar, who has studied up to Class 10, works at a supplements shop. His parents reportedly earn their livelihood through daily-wage labour. After his arrest, he was produced before a court, and Mumbai Police are preparing to take him to Mumbai on transit remand for further questioning.
Meanwhile, Amar’s family has claimed that he is innocent and has been falsely implicated in the case.
Investigators are also examining the alleged use of encrypted messaging platforms Signal and Zangi by the accused. Decoding communications exchanged over the past eight months is reportedly proving challenging, with police considering the digital trail important to establishing the alleged conspiracy.
With nine of the 12 arrested suspects reportedly from Sonipat, the district has become a significant focus of the investigation.
