Music composer and singer Shekhar Ravjiani is preparing to turn 50 next month, describing the milestone as the beginning of a new chapter filled with renewed energy, ambition and a greater appetite for creativity.
Taking to Instagram, the Vishal–Shekhar composer expressed gratitude to everyone who has supported him throughout his journey, reflecting on the experiences, relationships and musical milestones that have shaped his life.
“Crazy to think that a month from now, I hit the half-century mark,” Shekhar wrote, thanking those who had showered him with love and stood by him over the years.
Looking ahead, he said the five decades behind him had been a preparation for what comes next.
“These 50 years have been a great warm-up. The lessons, the highs, the lows, the music, the people, the love… all of it has brought me here. And now for the next chapter… double the effort, double the mehnat, and an even greater hunger to create, learn, grow and live,” he wrote.
Reassuring fans about his well-being, Shekhar added that his health, mind and heart were in a good place before declaring, “50, here I come. Let’s go!”
Shekhar rose to prominence alongside Vishal Dadlani as part of the music-composing duo Vishal–Shekhar. The pair made their film debut with Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi in 1999 and went on to compose music for numerous Hindi films, including Om Shanti Om, Dostana, Chennai Express, Bang Bang!, Sultan, War and Pathaan.
He has also earned recognition as a playback singer, with popular tracks including “Tujhe Bhula Diya”, “Bin Tere”, “Meherbaan” and “Zehnaseeb”.
Before entering the film industry, Shekhar worked in advertising and composed jingles. He also participated in the singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 1997, later returning to the programme as a judge alongside Vishal Dadlani in 2007 and 2010.
