New Delhi, October 28, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Delhi Traffic Police has announced traffic restrictions and diversions around Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium ahead of singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Aura India Tour’ concert on October 30. Commuters have been advised to avoid affected roads and use public transport, particularly the Delhi Metro, to minimise congestion.

In a post on X on Wednesday, the traffic police said restrictions and diversions could remain in effect from 1 p.m. to midnight on the day of the concert. Motorists have been urged to plan their journeys in advance, follow diversion signs and comply with directions from traffic personnel.

The police also appealed to commuters to remain patient and cooperate with officials deployed around the venue.

Meanwhile, up to 2,000 private security guards are expected to be deployed at the stadium as authorities prepare for the concert crowd, NDTV reported. The security arrangements are expected to include vehicle restrictions, a pedestrian-only zone and additional parking facilities to help manage the movement of attendees.

Organiser Clarifies Concert Was Not Cancelled

The announcement follows reports suggesting that the concert had been cancelled or denied permission over security concerns.

In a statement to IANS, organiser BookMyShow Live clarified that permission for the event had initially been temporarily withheld and that this should not be interpreted as a cancellation.

The organiser said Delhi Police had sought additional safety, traffic and crowd-management measures in view of the festive season and the need for heightened caution.

According to BookMyShow Live, it subsequently held a meeting with Delhi Police, presented a detailed plan and assured the authorities of full compliance with the required security and traffic arrangements. Permission for the concert was then reconsidered and granted.

The organiser said it was working with Delhi Police to ensure a smooth experience for concertgoers while minimising inconvenience to local commuters.

The October 30 show is scheduled to take place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, with authorities urging residents and visitors to account for possible traffic disruptions in the surrounding areas.
