Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor recently shared a heartfelt childhood memory of megastar Amitabh Bachchan during a Diwali special episode of the quiz-based reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati, recalling the legendary actor’s commanding presence on the sets of the film Ajooba.

Appearing on the show, Ranbir expressed his deep admiration for Amitabh and revealed that only two people in his life had made him feel unable to look them directly in the eyes while speaking: his late father, actor Rishi Kapoor, and Amitabh Bachchan.

“Sir, first of all, I would like to say that there have been only two people in my life whose eyes I cannot look into while talking. One was my father, and the other is you,” Ranbir told Amitabh.

Recalling his childhood visit to the sets of Ajooba, Ranbir said Amitabh’s towering personality and unmistakable presence had left a lasting impression on him.

He remembered seeing a tall man whose arrival seemed to transform the atmosphere around him, comparing the veteran actor’s screen presence to the Gen Z expression “aura farming”.

“When I came to the sets during the shooting of ‘Ajooba’ as a child, you had also posted this photograph on your social media handle. I saw this tall man, whom Gen Z today would call ‘aura farming’. It all started with him. When he entered a room, it felt as though someone had arrived, bringing his entire aura along,” Ranbir recalled.

The exchange highlighted the special connection Ranbir shares with Amitabh, who had also enjoyed a long-standing association with Rishi Kapoor. The two veteran actors appeared together in several memorable films over the decades.

Ranbir has worked with Amitabh in filmmaker Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, released in 2022. Earlier, in 2005, Ranbir assisted filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Black, which featured Amitabh in a leading role.

Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor shared screen space in several popular films, including Kabhi Kabhie (1976), Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), Naseeb (1981), Coolie (1983), Ajooba (1991) and 102 Not Out (2018).

Ranbir’s recollection offered a glimpse into the lasting impact Amitabh’s personality had on him from childhood, as well as the respect he continues to hold for the legendary actor.
