Mumbai, October 23, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
Mumbai Police have launched an investigation after receiving information about a threatening email that reportedly named veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan’s residence and mentioned singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh.
The email was reportedly sent to a school in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) area. Police are investigating the message, and further details are awaited.
According to reports, the email referred to Bachchan’s Mumbai bungalow, Jalsa, and cited October 31 and November 27 as dates for alleged attacks. It also mentioned Dosanjh in connection with a purported bomb attack at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse on November 27.
The message reportedly contained pro-Khalistan slogans and attributed the threats to a group calling itself the “Khalistan National Army”. The authenticity of the email and the claims it contained have not been independently verified.
The message also allegedly referred to potential attacks at different locations and times, including the Mayor’s office at 3 p.m. and schools at 1 p.m.
A police officer noted that Dosanjh was scheduled to perform at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse on November 27 as part of his India tour. Police are examining the contents of the email amid concerns over the security of the locations and individuals mentioned.
The development comes after reports that permission for Dosanjh’s October 30 concert in Delhi had initially been withheld over security concerns.
Event organiser BookMyShow Live clarified that reports of the concert’s cancellation were incorrect. It said permission had temporarily been withheld while authorities sought additional arrangements for safety, traffic management and crowd control during the festive season.
According to the organiser, representatives subsequently held a meeting with Delhi Police, presented a detailed security plan and assured officials that all prescribed safety and traffic guidelines would be followed. Permission for the concert was later reconsidered and granted.
