Punjab Cabinet Minister and Khanna MLA Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Monday handed over property cards establishing ownership rights to 227 households in the Lal Lakir area of Manak Majra village, describing the ‘Mera Ghar-Mere Naam’ scheme as a historic initiative that has fulfilled a long-standing aspiration of thousands of families.
Sond said the scheme, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, had brought significant relief to residents living within Lal Lakir areas by granting them legal recognition of their property ownership. He described the initiative as a reflection of the Punjab Government’s people-oriented approach.
The Cabinet Minister said the Aam Aadmi Party government had taken several public welfare decisions while fulfilling its promises to the people of Punjab, adding that these initiatives had received widespread appreciation.
He said the scheme had provided legal recognition to the ownership rights of residents who had faced difficulties concerning their houses and other properties. With property cards in hand, beneficiaries would be able to use their properties to pursue opportunities for progress and development.
Sond added that the property cards would enable residents to buy and sell their properties, with the way now cleared for their registration. He said the scheme had addressed longstanding problems faced by families living within the Lal Lakir area.
The minister said the Revenue Department had implemented the scheme in a transparent and efficient manner, enabling residents to obtain legal ownership rights to their properties.
Beneficiaries who received the property cards thanked the Punjab Government and Sond, saying the scheme had fulfilled their long-standing demand for recognition of their ownership rights.
