Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat visited the historic Khalsa Jatha British Isles Gurdwara Sahib in London during his ongoing visit to the United Kingdom, where he was received by Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney, members of the Gurdwara management and prominent Sikhs based in London.
The historic Gurdwara, established in 1908, is among the oldest Sikh places of worship established outside India.
During his visit, Bhagwat offered a Rumala Sahib at the Gurdwara and partook of Kada Prasad. He also interacted with members of the Gurdwara management.
“Shri Mohan Bhagwat offered a Rumala Sahib, partook of Kada Prasad, and had a meaningful interaction with the Gurdwara management,” Sahney said.
Referring to the significance of Bhagwat’s visit to the Sikh place of worship, Sahney said the doors of the Guru’s Darbar were open to anyone who approached with humility and sought the Guru’s blessings.
“In Sikh traditions, any devotee is welcome in Guru Darbar who comes in all humility to offer prayers and seek blessings of Guru,” Sahney said.
Bhagwat is currently visiting the United Kingdom, with his visit to the historic London Gurdwara forming part of his engagements during the tour.
