Television actor Vishal Aditya Singh is taking on an unusual role in the vertical daily soap ‘Dil Se Deewangi Tak’, describing the character as one of the most challenging parts he has played so far.
Speaking to IANS, Vishal said he was drawn to the project because it marks the platform’s first daily soap made specifically in the vertical format. He wanted to understand how storytelling changes when designed primarily for mobile phone viewing.
“This is Vertical’s first daily soap, and I wanted to explore this medium. Phones are going to remain an integral part of our lives, so I wanted to understand what kind of work is being created for the vertical format,” he said.
Vishal, known for shows such as ‘Chandrakanta’, said his decision was also influenced by the overall quality of the project.
“When I had a meeting and saw the show, I felt it had the essence of a television show — good casting, good writing and good execution. Keeping all these things in mind, I decided to do the show,” he added.
The actor said his character presented a particularly demanding challenge because, although he appears as a new character, he is connected to the previous season.
“My character is very different. I have never played a character like this before. In the previous season, there was another boy, and after he underwent plastic surgery, I came in as a new character. However, this character may look new, but he actually belongs to the previous season,” Vishal explained.
Calling it challenging to step into a character previously played by another actor, he said he has always been attracted to roles that push him beyond his comfort zone.
“I like challenging roles, and I have always tried to do something that challenges me as an actor. I am always excited about taking on such roles, and that was one of the reasons I decided to do this show,” he said.
‘Dil Se Deewangi Tak’ also features Yukti Kapoor, Piyush Sahdev and Akanksha Puri. The show premiered on Alright! TV on April 21, 2026.
