The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday ordered a major reshuffle of the state police, transferring nine IPS officers across several districts and key administrative postings.
The changes include shifts in the police leadership of Gonda, Sultanpur, Meerut, Jhansi, Bijnor, Balrampur and Sambhal, besides appointments at the state headquarters and UP-112 emergency response system.
According to the transfer orders, Vinit Jaiswal (IPS 2014), who was serving as Superintendent of Police (SP), Gonda, has been posted as SP, Sultanpur. Charu Nigam (IPS 2014), the SP of Sultanpur, has been transferred as SP, UP-112, Lucknow.
Avinash Pandey (IPS 2015), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Meerut, has been shifted to the headquarters of the Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh, in Lucknow as SP. B.B.G.T.S. Murthy (IPS 2015), SSP, Jhansi, will take charge as SSP, Meerut.
Abhishek (IPS 2015), SP, Bijnor, has been posted as SP, Gonda, while Vikas Kumar (IPS 2017), SP, Balrampur, has been promoted and transferred as SSP, Jhansi.
Krishna Kumar (IPS 2018), SP, Sambhal, has been transferred as SP, Bijnor. Vikas Chandra Tripathi, serving as SP/Additional SP in Barabanki, has been posted as SP, Sambhal.
Martand Prakash Singh, SP/Additional SP, Hardoi, has been transferred to Balrampur as SP.
The reshuffle covers both district-level SP and SSP postings, with several officers moved to key urban and sensitive districts. The government has also assigned officers to headquarters and emergency-response responsibilities.
The orders are to take effect immediately, with the transferred officers directed to assume their new responsibilities at the earliest.
The latest changes are part of the state government’s administrative exercise aimed at strengthening policing and ensuring effective deployment of senior officers across Uttar Pradesh.
