AAP to March to PM Residence Over E20 Fuel Policy, Kejriwal Seeks Meeting With Modi

New Delhi, August 3, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced that he will lead a march to the Prime Minister’s residence on Tuesday to submit a public petition opposing the implementation of E20-blended petrol and seek a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue.

Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal said he would leave the AAP headquarters at 12 noon along with 100 people to personally deliver the petition, which he claimed has been signed online by 2,33,238 people within a few days.

He alleged that the Centre was imposing E20-blended petrol despite widespread public concerns, claiming that the fuel was reducing vehicle mileage and causing damage to vehicles. According to Kejriwal, the government has failed to provide satisfactory answers regarding the policy, leading to questions about its rationale.

The AAP leader also alleged that the policy could be linked to pressure from the United States. Referring to US President Donald Trump, Kejriwal claimed there were allegations that India could purchase ethanol worth nearly $20 billion from the US over the next five years. However, he did not present evidence to support the claim.

Highlighting the party’s campaign against ethanol-blended fuel, Kejriwal said AAP had organised a “National Town Hall Against E20” on Saturday, which, according to him, received an overwhelming public response. He claimed that nearly seven lakh people watched the programme live online, reflecting growing public concern over the issue.

Kejriwal further alleged that individuals raising questions about E20, including influencers, content creators and affected citizens, were facing online trolling and threats of FIRs.

He said he had written to the Prime Minister about a month ago seeking an appointment to discuss the issue but had not received any response.

Expressing hope that the Prime Minister would meet the delegation on Tuesday, Kejriwal said the party wanted to present the public petition personally and discuss what it described as the adverse impact of E20-blended petrol on consumers.
