The Madhya Pradesh government has carried out a major reshuffle of senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, reassigning several key positions in the state secretariat and district administration as part of a broader administrative restructuring.
Under the latest orders, 2011-batch IAS officer Dinesh Jain has been appointed Commissioner-cum-Director of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection in Bhopal. He will also continue to serve as Additional Secretary in the Food and Civil Supplies Department.
Another 2011-batch officer, Girish Sharma, will continue as Additional Secretary in the Technical Education, Skill Development and Employment Department after previously serving as Project Director of the Madhya Pradesh Skill Development Project while holding multiple additional responsibilities.
Ankit Asthana, a 2014-batch officer, has been transferred from the Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Department to the General Administration Department as Deputy Secretary. He has also been entrusted with the additional charge of Director of the Madhya Pradesh Employee Selection Board.
Among district-level changes, Mandsaur Collector Aditi Garg has been posted as Project Director of the Madhya Pradesh Skill Development Project in Bhopal. She will additionally serve as Chief Executive Officer of the State Skill Development and Employment Board, Director of Employment, and oversee the SSR Global Skill Park.
The government has also reshuffled several district collectors. Chhatarpur Collector Parth Jaiswal has been transferred to Shahdol as Collector, while Balaghat Collector Mrinal Meena has been posted to Chhatarpur. Kumar Satyam, who was serving as Additional Collector in Gwalior, has been appointed Collector of Balaghat. Ratlam Collector Misha Singh has been shifted to Bhopal as Additional Commissioner in the Urban Administration and Development Department.
The restructuring also affects planning and governance institutions. Swaroachish Somvanshi, a 2012-batch IAS officer, has been assigned additional responsibilities as Member Secretary of the State Planning Commission and Director of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis, while continuing as Commissioner-cum-Director of Economics and Statistics.
Consequently, Rishi Garg, a 2013-batch officer, has been relieved of these additional assignments and will continue as Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Central Zone Electricity Distribution Company.
The latest administrative changes are aimed at strengthening governance and improving implementation across key sectors, including food security, skill development, employment, planning and public service delivery.
