The Uttarakhand government on Friday carried out a major administrative reshuffle, transferring and assigning new responsibilities to several senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and one Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer with immediate effect.
According to the official notification, 1997-batch IAS officer Lalrinliana Fanai has been relieved of the Excise Department while retaining his other responsibilities.
Nitesh Kumar Jha (2002 batch) has been shifted from the Information Technology, Suraj and Science and Technology departments to serve as Secretary, Panchayati Raj. Ravinaath Raman (2004 batch) has been given charge of the Transport Department and appointed Commissioner, Transport after being relieved of the School Education portfolio.
Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey (2005 batch) has been appointed Secretary, Information Technology, Suraj and Science and Technology, while Brijesh Kumar Sant (2006 batch) has been assigned the Excise Department after relinquishing transport-related responsibilities.
Among other changes, Dr Surendra Narayan Pandey (2007 batch) has been posted as Secretary, Sugarcane Development and Sugar Department. Jyoti Yadav (2009 batch), who was awaiting posting, has been appointed Secretary, School Education (Primary and Secondary). Yugal Kishore Pant (2009 batch) has been transferred to the Secretariat Administration Department, while Ranveer Singh Chauhan (2009 batch) has been assigned the Finance Department.
In the Indian Forest Service, Dr Parag Madhukar Dhakate has been relieved of certain responsibilities in the Panchayati Raj Department. Meanwhile, 2015-batch IAS officer Abhishek Ruhela has been appointed Additional Secretary, State Property Department, and State Property Officer.
The government has directed all officers concerned to assume charge of their new assignments immediately and submit compliance reports.
