Former Karnataka minister B. Nagendra appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday in connection with the alleged tribal welfare scam case.
Nagendra reached the ED office to appear before investigators as part of the agency’s ongoing probe into alleged financial irregularities involving funds meant for the welfare of tribal communities.
The former minister’s appearance comes as the ED continues its investigation into the alleged misuse and diversion of government funds. Investigators are examining financial transactions and the roles of individuals allegedly linked to the case.
Nagendra, who has been questioned in connection with the case previously, has denied wrongdoing.
The alleged scam had triggered a major political controversy in Karnataka and led to demands for accountability over the handling of funds allocated to the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation.
The ED’s investigation is focused on tracing the money trail and determining how the alleged irregularities were carried out and whether other individuals were involved.
