Faridabad, Nov 7, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
A man who had returned to Faridabad from Singapore to attend a family wedding was allegedly shot dead by his neighbour following a dispute over parking, with the accused reportedly firing 15 to 16 rounds, police said on Saturday.
The incident took place around 8 p.m. on Friday in Sector 21C. The deceased, identified as Paramjit Dhankar, had arrived in Faridabad just two days earlier. He was due to attend his nephew’s wedding scheduled for November 24.
According to Surajkund Station House Officer Prahlad Kumar, Paramjit lived on the first floor of house number 641 with his wife, son and daughter. He was employed with a major company and had been living in Singapore for work. He originally belonged to Hisar.
Police identified the accused as Mohan alias Monu Sharma, who lives on the third floor of the same building. The SHO said an argument reportedly broke out between the two over parking after Paramjit returned from the gym.
The accused allegedly opened fire with his licensed pistol, discharging around 15 to 16 rounds. Eight to nine bullets reportedly struck Paramjit, killing him.
Police said tensions had existed between the two families for some time. Around five days before the shooting, the accused had allegedly abused Paramjit’s son.
The accused reportedly fled the spot along with his family after the incident.
Police teams, Crime Branch personnel and a Forensic Science Laboratory team reached the scene after receiving information. Empty bullet casings were recovered as part of the investigation.
Paramjit’s body has been sent to ESI Medical College for a post-mortem examination. Police have launched a search to trace and arrest the accused. Further investigation is underway.
