Actor, director and producer Dhanush has apologised to fans who were unable to attend the audio launch of his upcoming film OM: Chapter 1 – Udhiram: The Blood Wood despite holding valid entry passes, taking full responsibility for the lapse and promising that it would not happen again.
The event, held on Friday at Sairam Engineering College, witnessed a massive turnout as thousands of fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the film’s cast, including Dhanush, Mammootty, Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela.
However, as the crowd swelled, several pass-holders were reportedly turned away, leaving many disappointed.
Responding to the incident, Dhanush addressed the affected fans in a post on X, expressing regret over their experience.
“It pains me deeply that thousands of fans who had tickets in hand were unable to get in and had to turn back,” he wrote.
The actor said he did not wish to get into the question of who was at fault, but accepted responsibility for what had happened.
“I take full responsibility and express my regret. It’s my responsibility to make sure this doesn’t happen again,” he added.
The audio launch was attended by Mammootty, Sreeleela, director Rajkumar Periasamy, producer Shraddha Agarwal of RTake Studios and music composer Sai Abhyankkar, among others.
The film, which has generated considerable anticipation following the event, is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 20.
