President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday congratulated Parinaaz Dhaliwal, Raiza Dhillon and Maheshwari Chauhan after the Indian trio won the bronze medal in the women’s skeet team event at the Asian Games 2026.
The Indian team finished third with a combined score of 331 points after three days of qualification rounds. China secured the gold medal with 347 points, while Kazakhstan won silver with 336.
“Congratulations to Parinaaz Dhaliwal, Raiza Dhillon and Maheshwari Chauhan on winning the Bronze Medal in the Women’s Skeet Team event at the Asian Games 2026. Your skill, determination and team spirit have made the nation proud. May you continue to achieve greater laurels in the future,” the President’s office said in a post on Wednesday.
Parinaaz and Raiza each scored 111 out of a possible 125 points, while Maheshwari contributed 109.
India narrowly missed out on a medal in the women’s individual skeet event. Dhillon finished fourth in the final with 23 points, while Dhaliwal ended eighth.
The Indian men’s skeet team also secured a bronze medal, with Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Bhavtegh Singh Gill combining for 346 points.
Anantjeet, who also qualified for the individual final, scored 119 points. Mairaj finished with 116, while Bhavtegh contributed 111.
India had won a record 22 shooting medals at the Hangzhou Asian Games, including seven gold, nine silver and six bronze.
The country, however, did not win a medal in the 10m air pistol events in the current edition. Manu Bhaker finished fifth in the women’s individual final with 181.1 points.
In the women’s 10m air pistol team event, India finished fourth with an aggregate score of 1719-44x. Vietnam claimed bronze with 1719-46x, while China won gold with 1735-56x and South Korea took silver with 1730-55x.
