Quetta, September 23, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
Two Baloch armed groups, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) and the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG), have claimed responsibility for a series of attacks targeting Pakistani security forces and infrastructure in different parts of Balochistan.
In a statement, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said the group carried out nine operations between September 13 and 20 across Kech, Dalbandin, Kharan, Mastung, Khuzdar, Dasht, Awaran and Quetta.
The BLF claimed its fighters attacked a Pakistani military convoy in Pullabad, Tump, in Kech district, on September 20 using automatic and heavy weapons. It also claimed rockets were fired at a military checkpoint, causing casualties and material damage.
According to the group, its fighters on September 19 targeted a military communications tower in Ashlolo Padag, Dalbandin, and set its equipment on fire. The BLF alleged that the facility was used for military communications, surveillance and other operations.
The group further claimed that a military vehicle was attacked in Maro, Mastung, on September 17 after personnel inside allegedly attempted to draw their weapons. It said four personnel were seriously injured.
The BLF also claimed responsibility for a sniper attack on a military checkpoint in Suneri, Mashkay, on September 15, in which one Frontier Corps personnel was allegedly killed.
In Quetta’s Sariab area, the group claimed its members encountered personnel from the Counter-Terrorism Department during a patrol, leading to an exchange of fire in which three CTD personnel were allegedly killed and two injured.
The BLF also claimed that an improvised explosive device detonated while bomb disposal personnel were attempting to defuse an explosive in Malant, Tump, on September 13, killing one military personnel and injuring another.
Separately, the Baloch Republican Guards claimed it attacked an armed group it described as a state-backed “death squad” in Kachhi Qalandar, Kachhi district.
BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch said the group’s fighters encountered the armed men during a routine patrol and responded after their movement was allegedly obstructed. He claimed the men fled the area, leaving behind their weapons.
The claims could not be independently verified. The incidents come amid continuing attacks by Baloch armed groups against Pakistani security forces and other targets across Balochistan.
