New Delhi, October 29, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to extend train services until midnight on Friday to facilitate the movement of spectators attending Diljit Dosanjh’s “Aura India Tour 2026” concert at Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium on October 30, an official said on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director, Corporate Communication, DMRC, special operational arrangements have been made to extend Metro services beyond normal operating hours across all Metro lines, except the Airport Express Line and Rapid Metro, Gurugram.

The DMRC said train services on all eligible lines would be extended until 12 midnight on the day of the concert, which is expected to attract more than 70,000 spectators.

Additional train trips will be operated across the Metro network to ensure the smooth dispersal of concertgoers after the event. Standby trains will also be kept ready for deployment, if required, to manage any unexpected surge in passenger traffic, the statement said.

The timings for QR ticket purchases through the DMRC mobile application, Delhi Metro Sarthi, will also be extended by one hour to accommodate the revised service schedule.

To ensure smooth entry and dispersal of spectators, special arrangements have been made at JLN Stadium Metro Station and other key interchange stations. Additional Metro staff, customer service personnel and Customer Facilitation Agents (CFAs) will be deployed to guide commuters and regulate passenger movement.

The DMRC will also deploy additional security personnel at JLN Stadium Metro Station. Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMDs) and enhanced security screening arrangements will be put in place to ensure orderly passenger movement while maintaining security protocols.

The concert is expected to draw approximately 70,000 spectators, many of whom are likely to use the Metro to travel to and from the venue. JLN Stadium Metro Station, located on the Violet Line connecting Kashmere Gate and Raja Nahar Singh, is the nearest Metro station to the stadium, the DMRC said.

The Metro corporation has encouraged concertgoers to use its services for a convenient, safe and environmentally friendly travel experience while reducing dependence on private vehicles.

Earlier, the Delhi Traffic Police issued details of traffic diversions and alternative routes for October 30, advising commuters to use public transport, particularly the Delhi Metro.

In a post on X on Wednesday, the Delhi Traffic Police said traffic restrictions and diversions could remain in force from 1 p.m. to midnight in view of Diljit Dosanjh’s live music concert at JLN Stadium.

“Commuters are advised to plan their journeys, avoid affected roads around JLN Stadium and use public transport (Delhi Metro recommended),” the advisory stated.
