New Delhi, October 29, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

A special fast-track court at Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Courts Complex has reserved its order on framing charges against the accused in the NEET-UG 2026 question paper leak case, fixing November 18 for pronouncement.

The court, designated to handle offences under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, is hearing a case involving the alleged leak of confidential question papers ahead of the medical entrance examination held on May 3. The examination was subsequently cancelled following the controversy, and a re-test was conducted on June 21 under heightened security arrangements.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a chargesheet against 13 accused on July 28, alleging that the paper leak involved a network of National Testing Agency (NTA) subject experts, intermediaries, coaching operators and others.

According to the agency, three NTA subject experts responsible for translating, back-translating and proofreading the papers allegedly exploited security lapses to remove confidential examination material from the agency’s Delhi office.

The CBI has alleged that one of the accused, P.V. Kulkarni, copied all 135 Chemistry questions, along with their answer options, onto small slips of paper and concealed them while leaving the confidential section.

The agency also highlighted shortcomings in surveillance at the NTA office, including the availability of only 20–25 days of CCTV backup and the absence of a dedicated control room to monitor live footage from the confidential section.

The chargesheet against the 13 accused cited 360 witnesses, 422 documents and 43 material objects. The accused face charges under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.

The CBI later filed a supplementary chargesheet against Sheshrao Bajrang Suryavanshi, the 14th accused arrested in the case. The agency has alleged that he was linked to Shubham Khairnar, a career counsellor arrested in Nashik for allegedly circulating the question paper on social media.

The CBI registered the case on May 12 following a complaint from the Union Ministry of Education’s Department of Higher Education over alleged irregularities and leakage of confidential examination material.
