‘Are You Angry?’: BJP Chief Nitin Nabin Takes Swipe at Opposition After PM Modi’s ‘Naraz Fufa’ Remark

New Delhi, September 6, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi described a section of the Opposition as “Naraz Fufa” (angry uncle), BJP President Nitin Nabin on Sunday took a fresh swipe at opposition leaders, questioning whether they were unhappy with India’s progress and development.

Modi had made the remark while contrasting the challenges India faced in 2013 with the country’s present position during his address at the centenary celebrations of Delhi University’s Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) on Saturday.

In a video posted on his official Instagram account, Nabin said Modi had referred to opposition leaders as “naraz fufa” and suggested that some people remained dissatisfied within their families and society, preventing them from thinking positively or moving forward.

“Are you angry?” Nabin asked opposition leaders while citing several developments under the BJP-led government.

He said the Opposition was unhappy when Article 370 was abrogated and the Tricolour was hoisted at Lal Chowk in Kashmir. He also claimed that opposition leaders remained dissatisfied despite what he described as the complete eradication of Naxalism from the country.

Taking a veiled dig at the Congress, Nabin said the BJP-led government had fulfilled a slogan raised during its tenure at the Centre. He further claimed that the Modi government had brought around 25 crore people above the poverty line, asking whether the Opposition was “angry” about that achievement as well.

The BJP president accused opposition parties of being unable to acknowledge India’s growth because of their “selfish interests”.

“Today your condition in the country is similar to that of a ‘naraz fufa’ at a household,” Nabin said, asserting that Indians supported Modi’s vision of achieving a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.

He added that opposition and resentment would not slow the country’s development.

At SRCC, Modi had also referred to “Dimagi Naxals” while discussing criticism of his government and said society has two types of people — those who transform its strength into national strength and those who become a “Naraz Fufa” on every issue.
