Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar Himanshu Jain issued the notice to Executive Engineer Public Works Department, National Highway, for delay after inspecting the construction of the bridge being constructed over Sirhind Canal near Nehru Stadium in Ropar.
Deputy Commissioner said that a new bridge is being constructed by the Public Works Department, National Highway near Nehru Stadium in Rupnagar district. The construction work of this bridge has not been completed even after the stipulated time. Due to which the traffic problem in the city has increased a lot and the residents of about 30 villages in the vicinity have to face a lot of difficulties.
He said that during the checking, it was found that the construction work of the bridge is going on at a very slow pace and more time till December 15 is being sought to complete the work of the bridge. Which shows negligence and due to which a large number of people are also being affected.
Himanshu Jain said that as per the target set by him, the construction of the bridge will be reviewed in the next 4-5 days and he also directed the department officials and company representatives to expedite the ongoing works.
