Actress-turned-jewellery designer Neelam Kothari Soni marked husband and actor Samir Soni’s birthday with a heartfelt social media post, sharing a loved-up throwback picture of the couple along with a glimpse of their family time with daughter Ahana.
Neelam took to social media on Tuesday to share the picture, in which she and Samir are seen posing together. Samir is dressed in a crisp white shirt and beige trousers, while Neelam looks elegant in a yellow draped dress.
Alongside the photograph, she penned a playful birthday message, writing, “Happy Birthday honey… i know you hate birthdays, but i had to post . Love you @samirsoni123”.
The post also featured a glimpse of the couple spending time with their daughter, Ahana, during what appeared to be a family outing.
Neelam and Samir tied the knot in January 2011 after being in a relationship for several years. Both had been married previously, and the couple has spoken in past conversations about how their earlier experiences made them cautious about entering another relationship.
In 2013, the couple adopted their daughter, Ahana. Neelam had earlier shared that adoption was something they had considered for some time and that they had always wanted a daughter. She recalled that Ahana’s smile won them over when they first met her.
On the professional front, Neelam made her acting debut with Ramesh Behl’s Jawaani in 1984 after being spotted during a family holiday in Mumbai. She went on to become a familiar face in Hindi cinema during the 1980s and 1990s, appearing in films such as Ilzaam, Love 86, Khudgarz, Hatya, Aag Hi Aag, Paap Ki Duniya, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Taaqatwar, Agneepath and Hum Saath-Saath Hain. She was also known for her frequent collaborations with actor Govinda.
Neelam stepped away from films around 2001 and shifted her focus to jewellery designing. She later returned to the entertainment space with Netflix’s reality series The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, alongside Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey and Seema Sajdeh.
Samir Soni, meanwhile, has worked across modelling, television, films and theatre. He began his television career with Samandar and later appeared in shows such as A Mouthful of Sky, Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin and Saaksshi. His film credits include China Gate, Baghban, Basti and Kahan Ho Tum.
He later played the lead role in the television drama Parichay – Nayee Zindagi Kay Sapno Ka, for which he received acting honours. Samir also participated in Bigg Boss 4 and has since appeared in various film and streaming projects.
