Reality streaming show ‘Alliance’ is set to return with its second season, with the makers announcing Wednesday that the new season will premiere on Prime Video on January 14, 2027.
The Indian adaptation of the globally acclaimed Dutch format created by John de Mol is produced by Banijay Asia. The first season, hosted by Kunal Kemmu, featured 16 celebrity contestants, known as Allies, competing inside a mysterious headquarters controlled by an entity called ‘The System’.
The contestants navigated physical and mental challenges, formed alliances and dealt with shifting loyalties and secret missions as they attempted to outmanoeuvre one another.
Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video India, said the response to the first season demonstrated that Indian audiences were receptive to a strategy-driven reality format.
“The response to Alliance Season 1 validated what we always believed, that Indian audiences are ready for a smarter form of reality entertainment,” Madhok said.
He added that the second season would return sooner, with “higher stakes, sharper gameplay, more drama” and an evolved ‘System’ designed to test the contestants in new ways.
“Our continued partnership with Banijay Asia allows us to further push the boundaries of this format. Alliance has firmly established itself as a defining title in India’s unscripted space, and Season 2 will only strengthen that position,” he said.
The first season featured mind games, secret missions and changing loyalties, keeping viewers engaged throughout the competition.
Deepak Dhar, Founder and Group CEO of Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India, said the format revolves around the challenge of maintaining strategic focus as the rules and circumstances change.
“For season 2, we’ve gone back to that core and found new ways to test the Allies, not just through the challenges, but through the choices they make and the relationships they build,” Dhar said.
He added that the team was looking forward to continuing its partnership with Prime Video and taking the format to a new level.
The second season of ‘Alliance’ will stream on Prime Video from January 14, 2027.
