Singer Kailash Kher has opened up about his musical philosophy, saying he has never believed in chasing changing industry trends and has consistently stayed true to his emotions, lyrics and signature sound.
Speaking about his latest track Tham Jaa, the Teri Deewani singer told IANS that since entering the music industry, he and his team have focused on creating music according to their own artistic identity rather than following what is currently popular.
“We make our own emotions, our own words, our own composition, our own style of sound, and never compromise with it,” Kher said.
He noted that artists are often encouraged to quickly create catchy hook lines based on prevailing audience preferences. However, he said this has never been his approach.
“Now quickly make a hook line. We don’t do that at all,” he said.
Kher said the same philosophy guides Kailasa Records, where he wants words, emotions and craftsmanship to remain central to every song.
He stressed that while the world and people’s ways of thinking continue to change, fundamental human emotions remain constant. Drawing parallels with nature, he said the moon, sun, earth, air and water have remained unchanged despite the rapid evolution of society.
“No matter how much the world changes, emotions never change,” Kher said, adding that people should remain aware, grounded and conscious amid the changes around them.
The singer also reflected on how growing confidence in human intelligence and knowledge has sometimes created its own challenges. For him, remaining connected to basic realities and nature offers a sense of balance in an increasingly changing world.
