New Delhi, October 29, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Nagaland, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra and the National Capital Territory of Delhi, extending key deadlines to provide voters and political parties more time to participate.

The revised timelines were notified on Thursday. The final electoral rolls will be published on November 30 in all six states, while Delhi’s final publication has been scheduled for December 22.

In Nagaland, the notice phase and disposal of claims and objections will continue until November 25. Telangana has been given until November 26 for the corresponding process, while Andhra Pradesh and Haryana will complete it by November 20. The final rolls in all four states are due on November 30.

Maharashtra has a separate timeline. The deadline for filing claims and objections has been extended to November 13, while the notice phase and disposal of claims and objections will continue until November 25. Its final electoral rolls will also be published on November 30.

In Delhi, the period for filing claims and objections has been extended until November 25. The notice phase and disposal of claims and objections will continue until December 15, with the final rolls scheduled for publication on December 22.

The Commission has directed the respective Chief Electoral Officers to communicate the revised deadlines to all concerned officials and publicise the changes widely through available media. Political parties must also be informed in writing, while copies of the revised schedule have been sent to the respective Chief Secretaries.

The SIR exercise is aimed at ensuring that electoral rolls remain accurate and up to date. The extended timelines are intended to give eligible citizens additional time to seek inclusion and allow authorities to examine claims and objections before the final lists are published.
