Singer and actress Selena Gomez has celebrated more than 25 years of friendship with fellow singer Demi Lovato, describing her as one of the most genuine and honest people in her life.
Gomez shared an emotional tribute on Instagram as she featured Lovato in the latest campaign for her beauty brand. Reflecting on their journey from childhood to adulthood, she recalled the dreams they shared and the ups and downs they had experienced together.
“Over 25 years of ups and downs in life and friendship and growth, there has always been a constant that has brought me back to you,” Gomez wrote, addressing Lovato directly.
She recalled how Lovato knew her when she was just seven years old and had a dream, adding that Lovato had a big dream of her own.
Gomez said she was proud of everything they had been through and thanked Lovato for remaining one of the most “unbelievably real honest human beings” in her life. She also expressed her love and said having Lovato be part of the beauty campaign meant a great deal to her.
The two began their careers as child performers on the television series Barney & Friends. Gomez later became widely known for her role in Wizards of Waverly Place, while both went on to build successful careers in music and acting.
Gomez has released albums including Kiss & Tell, A Year Without Rain and When the Sun Goes Down. Her screen credits include Another Cinderella Story, Monte Carlo, Spring Breakers and the Hotel Transylvania franchise. She has also produced projects such as 13 Reasons Why, Selena + Chef and Only Murders in the Building.
Her accolades include an Actor Award, an American Music Award, a Billboard Music Award, a Cannes Film Festival Award and two MTV Video Music Awards.
