Actor Shahid Kapoor has shared a heartwarming and humorous anecdote about his younger brother, actor Ishaan Khatter, recalling how he changed his diapers when Ishaan was a child.
In a promo shared by Netflix on Instagram for The Great Indian Kapil Show, Shahid revealed that Ishaan has now promised to return the favour when he grows old, adding a playful touch to their close-knit sibling bond.
The promo begins with Shahid, his wife Mira Rajput and Ishaan entering the show. It then features the brothers dancing to the popular song “Zingaat”.
During the episode, Shahid also recalled his wife Mira’s reaction after watching his 2016 film Udta Punjab.
“When Udta Punjab was complete, you know, they call you in the editing room and show you the film. She was sitting next to me. When the film was over, she was sitting on the other side of the sofa,” Shahid said.
Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, Udta Punjab explored drug abuse among young people in Punjab. The film featured an ensemble cast including Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh.
Reacting to Shahid’s anecdote, host Kapil Sharma jokingly remarked, “Had she seen Kabir Singh and got married, she would have run away.”
Shahid then spoke about his childhood memories with Ishaan and the younger actor’s promise to look after him in his old age.
“When I was a kid, I changed his diapers. And in old age, he is saying that he will change mine,” Shahid said.
The conversation also turned to Shahid’s parenting style when Archana Puran Singh asked whether he was an indulgent father.
Mira responded, “He spoils a lot, but not in a bad way.”
Shahid added that he believes in letting children enjoy themselves while ensuring their safety. Referring to riding a bike and spoiling children, he said, “He rides a bike fast, but rides it very safely. He spoils children, but not in a bad way.”
Shahid and Mira married in a private ceremony in 2015. The couple welcomed their daughter, Misha, in 2016 and their son, Zain, in 2018.
The upcoming episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show promises a mix of family anecdotes, humour and candid conversations as Shahid and Ishaan share the stage.
