BJP National President Nitin Nabin has directed the party’s newly appointed state in-charges and co-in-charges to focus on strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level and spend more time in their respective states instead of making frequent visits to Delhi.
Nabin issued the directions during a meeting at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi on Tuesday. The meeting marked the first collective interaction with the newly appointed state in-charges and co-in-charges following a recent organisational reshuffle covering all 28 states and eight Union Territories.
According to party sources, the meeting was attended by functionaries responsible for organisational work across the states and Union Territories. Discussions centred on strengthening the party structure, preparing for upcoming Assembly elections and expanding the BJP’s outreach among different sections of society.
Sources said Nabin emphasised that the responsibilities assigned to the functionaries should be treated as their primary priority. He asked them to work in the interests of the organisation rather than focus on individual considerations.
The BJP president instructed the in-charges and co-in-charges to make regular visits to their allotted states and maintain continuous engagement with the respective state units. He also stressed the importance of holding regular organisational meetings at the booth level and ensuring that feedback from the ground reaches the central leadership.
The functionaries were asked to ensure that party programmes and organisational activities are effectively implemented at the grassroots level, with regular reviews of the organisation’s functioning.
Nabin also underlined the need to strengthen outreach among women, youth and other sections of society. The state functionaries were directed to regularly organise activities under the party’s initiatives, including those related to Viksit Bharat Sankalp, and maintain sustained engagement with different social groups.
With Assembly elections approaching in several states, Nabin instructed the newly appointed functionaries to visit poll-bound states frequently and remain actively involved in election preparations.
The BJP has recently revamped its organisational structure ahead of the 2027 Assembly election cycle, appointing new in-charges and co-in-charges across all 28 states and eight Union Territories.
Sources said complaints had been raised that some party functionaries were frequently travelling to the national capital and spending considerable time seeking meetings with senior leaders. Nabin reportedly made it clear that those assigned responsibility for a state must remain focused on organisational work there.
