Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGND PSOU), Patiala, organised ‘Saanjh – Alumni Meet 2026’, bringing together alumni, students and faculty members to celebrate their enduring association with the University.
The event was presided over by JGND PSOU Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh and attended by senior University dignitaries, faculty members, alumni and students. The programme was organised by the University’s Alumni Cell under the coordination of Dr. Pooja Aggarwal, Secretary of the JGND PSOU Alumni Association.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh highlighted the importance of alumni engagement in strengthening the open university ecosystem. He said alumni serve as an important link between the University, its learners and the wider community. He added that they could contribute by sharing their experiences, mentoring learners, and supporting academic and outreach initiatives.
Dr. Pooja Aggarwal, Coordinator of the Alumni Cell, described alumni as valuable stakeholders in the institution’s growth. She said ‘Saanjh’ reflected the University’s commitment to maintaining a lifelong relationship with its learners.
Dr. Amitoj Singh, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, delivered the formal vote of thanks.
The programme also featured cultural performances by students, including singing, dance and poetry recitation, highlighting the creative talents of the University’s learners and fostering an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie.
During the event, distinguished alumnus Dr. Rohit Sachdeva, Associate Professor and Dean Academics at Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, was felicitated in recognition of his achievements and contributions in his field.
The alumni meet provided a platform for interaction, allowing former students to reconnect, share memories and exchange experiences.
