Bathinda Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Suhel Qasim Mir interacted with students at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU) on Tuesday, discussing student concerns, guidance and the importance of seeking assistance during difficult situations.
Addressing the students, Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman said the district administration was reaching out to young people to understand their problems, listen to their concerns and provide appropriate guidance.
He urged students to use their university years to build a strong foundation for their future and avoid activities that could adversely affect their education or career. He also advised them not to remain silent when facing difficulties, but to speak with their teachers, parents or the administration.
Dhiman said timely support and guidance could help students overcome many challenges and prevent problems from escalating.
SSP Suhel Qasim Mir highlighted the lack of awareness among young people about their rights and the assistance available from the police. He urged students not to panic if they encountered any incident, whether minor or serious, and to contact the police without delay.
Mir said students could call the emergency helpline 112 or contact the police through WhatsApp at 7508009080 to seek assistance in an emergency. He added that students should feel free to approach the police helpline even if they faced a minor incident or felt they were in a difficult situation.
The interaction was part of the district administration’s efforts to engage with students, address their concerns and encourage them to seek timely help and guidance.
