Spiritual leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam on Saturday claimed that he had received threatening calls and an audio message from a person he identified as a member of the Khalistani group Babbar Khalsa, allegedly in response to his public statements and social media posts opposing Khalistan-related activities.
Speaking to reporters in Sambhal, Krishnam said he had received several international calls in recent days but had not answered them. He said an audio message was subsequently sent to him after he did not take one such call.
Krishnam said he received the audio message on September 24 and identified the sender as Kulvir Singh Sidhu. He claimed the sender said he had carried out the Jalandhar incident and threatened to kill him using bombs, firearms and rocket launchers within four days.
Krishnam said he did not fully understand the message because it was delivered in traditional Punjabi. He added that, after seeking information from police officials about the sender, he was told that the person was associated with Babbar Khalsa, which he described as a dangerous terrorist organisation.
The spiritual leader said he would continue his work despite the alleged threat, stating that his life was dedicated to the construction of Kalki Dham and Sanatan Dharma. He said he considered it his responsibility to bring the matter to the attention of the Uttar Pradesh Police, the Union Home Ministry and the public.
Krishnam also appealed for the government to take over the Kalki Trust and complete the construction of Kalki Dham if he were killed. He said the proposed religious complex should honour Lord Kalki along with Lord Buddha, Lord Mahavir and Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj.
Calling Hindus and Sikhs “children of the same mother”, Krishnam said Guru Gobind Singh was revered by him and announced plans to install an idol of the Sikh guru at Kalki Dham.
The claims regarding the alleged threat and the identity or organisational affiliation of the sender had not been independently established at the time of reporting.
