Chief of Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth on Friday visited forward areas of the Chinar Corps and reviewed the operational preparedness of troops deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir.
The Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI) of the Indian Army said General Seth visited the forward areas on September 25 and assessed the operational readiness of formations under the Northern Command.
During the visit, commanders briefed the Army Chief on measures being taken to maintain a robust security posture along the LoC, as well as ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening operational capabilities.
General Seth was also apprised of preparations for counter-terrorist operations in the hinterland and the prevailing security situation in the area.
The visit provided the COAS with an assessment of the readiness of formations across the operational spectrum and the capability-development initiatives underway, according to the Army.
During his interaction with troops deployed in operational areas, General Seth commended all ranks for their professionalism, commitment and high state of vigilance.
He also reiterated the five guiding principles of “VIJAY” — innovating with purpose, adapting with agility, building capability with resolve, anticipating challenges before they emerge, and ensuring that the Indian Army remains resilient, future-ready and mission-ready.
The Army said the “VIJAY” framework is aimed at strengthening the force’s ability to respond at short notice across the full spectrum of operations.
The visit comes as security forces maintain heightened operational preparedness along the LoC and in the hinterland of Jammu and Kashmir.
