Hyderabad, October 30, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday alleged that former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) attempted to encroach on prime land worth Rs 50,000 crore in Hyderabad’s Miyapur area.

A day after the Supreme Court upheld the Telangana government’s claim over 550 acres of land in Miyapur, Revanth Reddy directed officials to take possession of the property and fence it off.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, the Chief Minister described the Supreme Court’s verdict in the 23-year-old case as “historic” and thanked the apex court for upholding the state government’s claim to the land.

He alleged that KCR, his close associate and Rajya Sabha MP Damodar Rao, and the chairman and managing director of Namasthe Telangana had attempted to grab the land using businessman Goldstone Prasad as a front.

“By protecting this land, the Supreme Court has ensured that these valuable public assets remain with the people of Telangana. This is a monumental judgment in the interest of the state and its people,” Revanth Reddy said.

He stated that the Congress, while in opposition during the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regime, had fought against the then state government to protect the land. After coming to power, the Congress government pursued the case and secured a favourable verdict.

The Chief Minister claimed that his government had so far protected government land worth Rs 1.50 lakh crore.

Listing several cases involving alleged land encroachments by KCR and his family members, Revanth Reddy claimed they had attempted to manipulate revenue records to take over land. He also accused them of exchanging luxury cars and cash as bribes.

The Chief Minister further alleged that K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), KCR’s son, had attempted to grab IMG land in collusion with the Bhalerao family.

He said BRS leaders had also tried to take over valuable government land in Kancha Gachibowli and Mamidipally, but the Congress government protected the properties through legal battles.

Revanth Reddy alleged that associates of KTR had attempted to encroach on forest land in Gurramguda, where the Supreme Court upheld the land’s forest status.

He also accused KTR and Rayalaseema Builders of attempting to grab 143 acres in Manchirevula. The government, he said, protected the land and established a school for the children of police personnel.

The Chief Minister claimed that 400 acres of forest land in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district had been handed over to an MLA who later defected to the BRS. He said the government had fought the case in the Supreme Court.

Revanth Reddy challenged KCR and KTR to debate the allegations of land encroachment and illegal deals in the Telangana Assembly.

He said the Miyapur land, which the government had protected through legal proceedings, would be used to generate resources for irrigation, education, healthcare and other development projects.

The Chief Minister added that, following a Cabinet decision, proceeds from the Miyapur land would be allocated to education. A Cabinet subcommittee on resource mobilisation would examine the proposals and decide how the funds could be used for public development.
