The upcoming Malayalam film starring superstar Mohanlal and directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Vishnu Mohan has been officially titled Operation Ganga. The project was earlier being referred to by its tentative title, L367.
The film takes its title from India’s evacuation mission launched to bring home Indian citizens, including thousands of students, stranded in Ukraine following the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war.
Carrying the tagline A Nation’s Promise, Operation Ganga will depict one of India’s challenging evacuation operations conducted across international borders.
Alongside Mohanlal, the film features Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal, Bhagyashri Borse, Parthiban and Adil Hussain in pivotal roles.
Vishnu Mohan, best known for directing the devotional blockbuster Meppadiyan, is at the helm of the project.
The film brings together an accomplished technical team. Cinematography is by Miroslaw Kuba Brozek, known for his work on Pushpa and Pushpa 2, while Rajeevan serves as production designer, with credits including GOAT, Meiyazhagan, Amaran and Kathanar.
Action sequences will be choreographed by Sea Young Oh, known for Dhurandhar and Kill. Music is being composed by Shashwat Sachdev, who recently scored the pan-Indian film Dhurandhar.
Produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the Sree Gokulam Movies banner, the film also features editor Shameer Mohammed and sound designer Bishwadeep Chatterjee, whose credits include Dhurandhar, Uri, 3 Idiots and Padmaavat.
K.V. Sanjit will oversee the visual effects, while Melvy J is handling costume design and Ronex Xavier is the makeup artist.
Baiju Gopalan and V.C. Praveen are the co-producers, with Krishnamoorthy serving as executive producer.
