YSRCP chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday accused the N. Chandrababu Naidu-led state government of “censoring” questions over alleged irregularities in the DSC 2025 teacher recruitment and demanded a CBI probe into the matter.
Jagan also called for the resignation of state Education Minister Nara Lokesh, holding him responsible for the alleged recruitment irregularities.
In a social media post, the YSRCP chief alleged that fresh evidence and complaints emerging from different parts of Andhra Pradesh had raised serious questions about the recruitment process. He claimed that instead of agreeing to an independent investigation, the TDP-led coalition government was attempting to silence those raising the issues.
Jagan alleged that social media posts and accounts belonging to Opposition parties, media platforms, activists and individuals questioning the government over the DSC recruitment had been restricted, removed or geo-blocked on Meta platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, with “legal requirements” cited as the reason.
He further alleged that people questioning the government over corruption, unfulfilled “Super Six” and “Super Seven” election promises, alleged high-handedness or abuse of power were being targeted.
“When you cannot answer the questions, you silence the questioners. This is not governance; this is censorship,” Jagan said, invoking the right to freedom of speech and expression.
Questioning the government’s refusal to order a CBI probe, he raised allegations concerning teacher appointments, including claims that some candidates were given jobs without appearing for DSC examinations or clearing the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
He also alleged that government orders relating to the sports quota were issued and subsequently cancelled after recruitment, while candidates appointed under those orders continued in service. Jagan described the alleged irregularities as evidence of corruption.
The YSRCP chief demanded that all social media accounts, posts and content allegedly restricted during what he called a “censorship drive” be restored and that the government provide answers to the Opposition and citizens.
He challenged the Naidu government to order a CBI investigation if it was confident that the DSC 2025 recruitment process was transparent and free of irregularities.
Jagan also demanded that Education Minister Nara Lokesh take responsibility for the alleged lapses and resign from his post.
