Actress Manisha Koirala has encouraged women to embrace menopause with confidence and self-care, urging them to understand their changing bodies rather than resist the physical and emotional changes that accompany this phase of life.
Taking to Instagram, the Dil Se actress highlighted how hormonal changes during menopause can affect bone and muscle health, sleep, mood and metabolism. She described the transition as a new chapter in life that calls for greater attention to personal well-being rather than fear.
“Menopause is not the end of our strength — it’s a new chapter of taking care of ourselves. Hormonal changes can challenge our bones, muscles, sleep, mood and metabolism. But we can meet this phase with strength, not fear,” she wrote.
Koirala also emphasised the importance of maintaining healthy habits, including strength training, nutritious food and adequate rest. She encouraged women to listen to their bodies and seek support whenever needed.
“Lift weights. Eat well and nourish your body. Rest without guilt. Listen to yourself and seek support when needed,” she added.
Underlining her message of acceptance, the actress said women did not need to struggle against the changes their bodies undergo but should learn to work with them.
“We don’t have to fight our changing bodies. We have to work with them,” she wrote, concluding with an encouraging message: “This chapter can be our strongest yet.”
Alongside her message, Koirala shared a video of herself exercising at the gym. Dressed in white sportswear, she was seen lifting dumbbells and performing chest exercises.
The 55-year-old actress, who has spoken openly about her experience as an ovarian cancer survivor, has also used her platform to discuss menopause and age-related changes, encouraging women to approach this stage of life with confidence.
On the professional front, Koirala is known for her performances in films such as 1942: A Love Story, Bombay, Khamoshi: The Musical and Dil Se.
She was last seen as Mallikajaan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2024 Netflix period drama series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.
