Bengaluru, October 13, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The controversy over an alleged sting operation in Karnataka intensified on Tuesday, with former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah approaching a Bengaluru court for an injunction to stop the circulation and broadcast of allegedly defamatory audio and video clips linked to the matter. He has also sought an investigation.

Siddaramaiah, a Congress Working Committee member, filed the petition before the Additional City and Sessions Court (CCH-18). The court was expected to take it up on Tuesday.

The development follows former BJP leader and MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal’s allegation that Siddaramaiah was forced to resign through blackmail. Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has also commented on the alleged sting operation.

Reacting to Siddaramaiah’s move, BJP leader and Leader of Opposition R. Ashoka accused the Congress of betraying the former Chief Minister and using him before discarding him. He demanded an immediate FIR in connection with the alleged sting operation and the audio and video clips.

Ashoka also accused the Congress government of neglecting drought-hit farmers, claiming that the ruling party was preoccupied with the controversy instead of addressing the state’s problems. He criticised Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, alleging that he had spent more time in Delhi than in Karnataka since assuming office.
