A post-mortem examination of former Bayana MLA Atar Singh Bhadana has revealed more than 40 injuries on his body, fractures in both hands and his right leg, and a severe head wound identified as the cause of death.
The medical board conducted the examination in Jaipur following Bhadana’s death after an alleged assault at a mining site in Bhoda village, Bharatpur district. Initial suspicions of a gunshot injury were reportedly not confirmed by the X-rays or post-mortem findings.
According to the allegations, a group armed with sticks, clubs and other weapons attacked Bhadana. His family has alleged that the attackers attempted to burn him and his employees alive, while the office and residential quarters at the mining site were reportedly set on fire.
Bhadana’s wife, Kamlesh Bhadana, lodged an FIR at Vair police station accusing 30 named individuals and 50–60 unidentified people of assault, stone-pelting, firing and arson. The complaint cites a longstanding dispute over a mining lease and the operation of a stone-crusher unit.
Police have registered a case against more than 94 accused individuals and are investigating the incident, including the possible role of the mining dispute. Bhadana’s family has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe.
The allegations against the accused remain subject to investigation and legal proceedings.
