Hockey India on Tuesday announced the Indian men’s squad for the Asian Champions Trophy Punjab 2026, scheduled to be held in Jalandhar and Mohali from October 27 to November 5, with goalkeeper Krishan Bahadur Pathak returning to the team.
Captain Harmanpreet Singh will lead the side after guiding India to gold at the Asian Games in Japan, where the team successfully defended its continental title. Young defender Amandeep Lakra and midfielder Aditya Arjun Lalage have also earned places in the squad.
Chief coach Craig Fulton said playing the tournament in Punjab would be special, adding that the squad combines youth and experience and is looking forward to the support of the home crowd.
Defending champions India, the tournament’s most successful team with five titles, will aim to continue their strong run. The competition also marks the return of international hockey to Punjab, a state with a rich legacy in the sport.
The Olympian Surjit Singh Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar will host the opening ceremony and league-stage matches from October 27 to November 2. The tournament will then move to Mohali, where the semi-finals will take place on November 4 and the medal matches on November 5 at the Olympian Balbir Singh Senior International Hockey Stadium.
