Under the ongoing campaign launched by Jalandhar Commissionerate Police against anti-social elements, following the directions of Commissioner of Police Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur, under the supervision of Sh. Manpreet Singh Dhillon (DCP/Investigation), Sh. Jayant Puri (ADCP/Investigation), and Sh. Amarbir Singh (ACP/D), a police team led by Inspector Surinder Kumar, In-charge CIA Staff Jalandhar, successfully apprehended an accused with an illegal firearm.
Giving details, the CP Jalandhar, informed that on October 16, 2025, the CIA-Staff team was conducting a routine checkpoint under the Transport Nagar bridge, Jalandhar. During that, police team apprehended a suspicious individual for questioning. He was identified as Sagar Masih alias Bagi, son of Jarman Masih, resident of Christian Mohalla near Tanga Wala Adda, Kahnuwan, District Gurdaspur.
Upon searching, the police recovered one .32 bore pistol and four live cartridges from his possession.
In this regard, an FIR No. 248 dated 16.10.2025 under Sections 25-54-59 of the Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Division No. 8, Jalandhar.
