The makers of Daayra have released “Sach Ka Daayra,” a soulful and emotionally charged song that brings together the creative talents of poet-lyricist Gulzar, composer Amit Trivedi and singer B Praak. Presented by Junglee Music, a division of Times Music, the track explores the film’s central themes of truth, perception and perspective.
Rather than functioning merely as a soundtrack, “Sach Ka Daayra” is closely woven into the emotional world of Daayra. Gulzar’s layered lyrics, Trivedi’s atmospheric composition and B Praak’s evocative vocals give the song an intensity that reflects the film’s underlying conflict and emotional weight.
Kareena Kapoor Khan, who stars in the film alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran, said the song captures the emotional core of Daayra, adding that Gulzar’s words, Trivedi’s composition and B Praak’s voice create an intensity that stays with the listener.
Prithviraj Sukumaran described the track as one that makes the listener pause and reflect, saying the depth of its writing and the mood created by the music make it feel like another voice within the story.
B Praak said recording the song required a different kind of expression, with the challenge lying in balancing its emotional strength with a sense of quietness.
Trivedi said the composition needed to remain faithful to the story, while Gulzar’s layered writing and B Praak’s emotional delivery helped create a sound deeply rooted in the world of Daayra.
Director Meghna Gulzar said “Sach Ka Daayra” distils the film’s emotional core of angst and helplessness, while also carrying an underlying plea for justice to prevail. According to her, the lyrics, composition and vocals give these emotions their full weight and intensity.
Gulzar explained the song’s central idea, saying that truth is neither one-sided nor fixed like a line; it changes with time, circumstances and perspective, which is what the song seeks to express.

With Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran leading the cast under Meghna Gulzar’s direction, Daayra is positioned as a narrative-driven cinematic experience in which music plays an integral role. “Sach Ka Daayra” sets the emotional tone for that journey, deepening the story rather than simply accompanying it.
