Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has offered fans a glimpse of his recent spiritual getaway to Rishikesh, sharing photographs and videos capturing his time by the Ganga, visits to an ashram and moments of prayer and meditation.
Taking a break from his busy schedule and ongoing Aura India Tour 2026, Diljit posted a series of pictures from the trip on social media.
In one photograph, he is seen standing in front of a palace-like building in a white traditional outfit, wearing a turban and a grey shawl. Another shows him enjoying a traditional meal while seated on the floor. He also shared glimpses of a musical gathering at an ashram.
The pictures further capture Diljit praying with a woman in front of a mural, spending time by the Ganga and posing beside a helicopter with its pilots. One particularly interesting frame shows him writing autographs in Punjabi.
The singer appears to have travelled to Rishikesh after his Delhi concert on October 30, which marked the beginning of his Aura India Tour 2026.
His spiritual retreat comes amid the recent controversy over his response to criticism surrounding the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led student protests in Delhi.
During an Instagram Live session, Diljit had said he was an artist, not a politician, and wanted to stay away from protests and political matters. His remarks drew criticism from CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke.
At his Delhi concert, the singer appeared to respond to the criticism without naming anyone. Reiterating his identity as an artist, he said he loved his audience and wanted to be allowed to remain quiet, while expressing support for them.
He also remarked in Punjabi, “Punjabiyan nu na sikhaao ladaayia kida ladnaa,” adding, “Don’t teach Punjabis how to fight.”
