A case has been registered against the operator of a hotel in Jaipur after an investigation by the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) allegedly uncovered multiple violations involving the accommodation of two Thai women without completing mandatory registration formalities.
The violations came to light at Hotel Ellora in the Chitrakoot area. According to FRRO officials, one Thai woman had been staying at the hotel since October 19 despite her visa having expired. The hotel management allegedly failed to inform the police or submit the mandatory online C-Form within the prescribed period.
FRRO official Dharmendra Sagar said the hotel manager, Vipin Maheshwari, had also failed to complete the required registration formalities. The woman was taken into custody, and a case was registered against the hotel operator at Chitrakoot police station under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025.
The investigation also found that another Thai woman who had earlier stayed at the hotel had died at Sawai Man Singh Hospital. FRRO officials said she too had allegedly overstayed her visa and concealed her identity. The hotel had reportedly not submitted the required C-Form in her case either.
Investigators are also examining information provided by hotel staff that a foreign woman was allegedly accommodated using the passport of another foreign national who had recently been deported from Jaipur. The woman who had initially occupied the room reportedly left two to three hours before the other guest arrived.
Police are collecting information to establish the identities of the women and verify the circumstances surrounding the alleged use of another person’s passport.
Following the findings, the FRRO issued an advisory to hotels, guesthouses, homestays and other accommodation providers in Jaipur, directing them to verify original passports and valid visas and submit online C-Forms within the stipulated timeframe.
The office warned that establishments violating foreign-national registration requirements, submitting incorrect information or knowingly sheltering individuals concealing their identity or immigration status could face strict legal action.
