Bollywood actor Bobby Deol has recalled a touching moment from his friendship with Salman Khan, revealing how the superstar once followed him after a disagreement and sat with him on a pavement for a long conversation.
Bobby shared the anecdote in a special video message for Salman on the latest episode of Karan Johar’s celebrity chat show Koffee With Karan, where the superstar appeared alongside actress Karisma Kapoor. During the episode, Johar played messages from people who share a close bond with Salman.
Expressing his affection for the actor, Bobby said their families shared a special connection and recalled the warmth Salman’s relationship with his late father, veteran actor Dharmendra, had reflected.
“I love you, man. I love you. We’re like family, all of us. I mean, the bond you shared with my papa was just so amazing. He loved you like his son. And yes, there’s so many similarities between you and him. He always said that,” Bobby said.
The Animal actor then recounted an incident from 2000, when they had travelled for shows together. He said Salman had become upset with him over something, prompting Bobby to walk away. However, Salman followed him and made an effort to resolve the situation.
“I still remember the night when we had gone in 2000 for shows. And something happened and you got upset with me and I walked off. And then you came chasing behind me. And you sat with me and we sat on the pavement and we chatted for so long. And you were so warm and nice and loving,” Bobby recalled.
Praising Salman’s generosity and the support he has extended to others, Bobby added that nobody could match the superstar’s personality and thanked him for everything he had done for him and many others.
“There can never be someone like you, Salman. You’re just amazing,” he said.
Premiering in 2004, Koffee With Karan is known for its candid celebrity conversations, rapid-fire rounds and personal anecdotes from the worlds of Bollywood and entertainment.
