Filmmaker Subhash Ghai apologised to his “dear friend” Rakesh Roshan for missing the veteran filmmaker’s birthday celebration on Sunday night, sharing a throwback photograph to mark the occasion.
Ghai took to the photo-sharing platform to wish Rakesh Roshan and posted a picture from the latter’s birthday celebration last year. The photograph featured Ghai alongside Rakesh Roshan, his wife Pink Roshan, Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff.
Sharing the memory, Ghai wrote, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DEAR FRIEND #RAKESH ROSHAN – a person n director i always admire but i had to miss his last night party. Here is my memory pic with my ram Lakhan on his last year party when his karan Arjun were missing. Rakesh n pinki Wonderful couple I love to be with them. Stay blessed always with happy life ahead (sic).”
Rakesh Roshan responded to the post with a message of gratitude, writing, “Subhash ji much gratitude,” along with a folded hands emoji.
Meanwhile, Rakesh Roshan’s daughter Sunaina Roshan shared a heartfelt birthday tribute for her father on Instagram. She posted a video montage featuring rare father-daughter moments from over the years.
Sunaina said one of her favourite compliments is being told that she resembles her father. She also praised his strength, wit and resilience, saying she feels proud to carry a part of those qualities with her.
“If being called your daughter wasn’t enough of a blessing, being told that I’m like you is one of my favourite compliments. Your strength, your wit, your resilience… these are the qualities I’ve always admired in you and I’m so happy to carry a little piece of them with me,” she wrote.
“Forever proud to be your daughter. Forever your Daddy’s girl. Happy Birthday, Papa. I love you,” she added.
Rakesh Roshan replied to his daughter’s post, writing, “Thank you Niks.”
