Actress Shubhangi Atre, best known for her role in ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai’, will headline producer and actor JD Majethia’s upcoming series ‘Tulsi Hai Na’, which explores the use of artificial intelligence in storytelling.
The series will adopt a hybrid format, using AI alongside real faces and voices to create a distinctive viewing experience while retaining live performances and the emotional core of the narrative. Atre will play the titular character, Tulsi.
Majethia, who is riding high on the success of ‘Chumbak’, said the project reflects his production house’s interest in adapting to changing technology and exploring new creative possibilities.
“As creators we have always believed in evolving with time. Following ‘Chumbak’, we wanted to experiment with what technology can offer to storytelling,” he said.
Describing the format, Majethia said AI would expand the world of the series without compromising its emotional foundation. He added that having Atre lead the project made the collaboration particularly special.
Atre also expressed enthusiasm about reuniting with Majethia, whom she addressed as Jamnadas (JD) Majethia. She said the project offered her an opportunity to explore a storytelling format different from conventional productions.
The actress described playing Tulsi as a special experience and said the combination of real performances, voices and AI opened up new creative possibilities while keeping storytelling central.
Produced by Hats Off Productions, ‘Tulsi Hai Na’ is expected to premiere on November 7, 2026. The project marks another experiment by the production house in exploring emerging formats and technology-driven entertainment.
