Another Indian national critically injured in the October 10 attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh has died while undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU), the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia said on Wednesday.
The Embassy expressed condolences to the bereaved family and assured all possible assistance in bringing the deceased’s mortal remains to India or arranging his funeral in Riyadh, according to the family’s preference.
“With a heavy heart, we share that another Indian national, critically injured in the 10 October attack on Riyadh airport, has passed away in ICU,” the Embassy said in a post on X, adding that it had remained in touch with the family and would continue to support them.
With this, the number of Indians killed in the attack has risen to two. Last month, the Embassy confirmed the death of Mohammed Yusuf Ali, a Hyderabad resident who was also injured in the attack. His two sons and an aunt were among those injured.
Following the attack, the Indian mission had said that 11 Indian nationals were among the injured and that it was coordinating with local authorities and hospitals to monitor their condition.
According to Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation, the attack on King Khalid International Airport killed 12 people and injured 309 others.
India had condemned the attack, describing strikes on civilians and civilian infrastructure as “unacceptable”, and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities.
