Mumbai, November 3, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Indian equity markets extended their rally for the fourth consecutive session on Tuesday, with the Sensex surging 1,225.07 points, or 1.62 per cent, to close at 76,917.85. The Nifty gained 370.05 points, or 1.58 per cent, to settle at 23,810.85.

Strong quarterly earnings from domestic companies lifted investor sentiment, while weakness in global technology and artificial intelligence-linked stocks encouraged a shift towards traditional sectors.

Among Nifty constituents, BSE, Nestle India and Tata Consumer Products were the top gainers. The Nifty Midcap 100 rose 1.06 per cent, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 advanced 0.31 per cent.

The FMCG sector led the gains, with the Nifty FMCG index rising nearly 3 per cent. The Nifty PSU Bank index, however, was the worst-performing sector and ended in the red.

Market experts said the Nifty’s recovery was encouraging but cautioned that the 23,800–23,900 range could act as resistance. The 23,200–23,500 zone is expected to provide immediate support in case of a pullback. They also advised investors to favour stocks showing relative strength while managing overnight risks amid global uncertainties.

Meanwhile, the rupee gained around 0.15 per cent to trade at 94.74, supported by easing commodity prices. Analysts said its outlook would depend on commodity movements, global dollar trends and foreign fund flows.
