Bijapur, November 6, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
Security forces have recovered a large cache of explosives and electronic equipment allegedly concealed underground by Maoists in a dense forest area of Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district.
The recovery was made on Thursday during a search operation near Pujarikanker village, under the Usur police station limits. Acting on specific intelligence provided by the intelligence wing of a CoBRA Battalion, a joint team of District Force and CoBRA personnel searched the hilly and forested area southeast of the village, Additional Superintendent of Police Rahul Bansal said.
The seized explosives included 455 electric detonators and 500 non-electric detonators. The team also recovered electronic equipment and accessories, including two multimeters, radio set battery charger cradles, copper prototyping boards, antennas, charging devices, a relay control circuit board, cables and approximately eight metres of electric wire. Naxal-related literature was also found at the site.
According to the official, the cache appeared to have been stored for use in future attacks or for manufacturing improvised explosive devices. He said the electronic components indicated possible preparations for communication and triggering systems.
All recovered materials have been formally seized by the Usur police station. Further investigation and legal proceedings have been initiated under relevant sections of the law, Bansal said.
Security forces remain on high alert and are continuing anti-Naxal operations in the region based on intelligence inputs.
