Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will lead the BJP’s ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ padayatra in Bhopal on Wednesday, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Tuesday.
Welcoming Singh’s visit, Yadav said, “Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is coming to Bhopal tomorrow to join us in the padayatra to lead the ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ campaign. On behalf of the state, I welcome and greet him.”
The march will be the third major programme under the campaign in Madhya Pradesh, following demonstrations in Indore on October 30 and Jabalpur on November 2.
The BJP launched the campaign to counter the Congress’s criticism of the Election Commission and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Senior party leaders, workers and supporters from across the state are expected to participate in Wednesday’s programme.
State BJP president Hemant Khandelwal and other senior leaders have coordinated preparations for the march. Traffic and parking arrangements have also been made for the event, scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at Atal Path in the TT Nagar locality of Bhopal.
